Custom made organ: especially for at home and churches

No living room, attic, church or hall is exactly the same size. That’s the reason we make custom organs at Mixtuur. In addition, we can adapt the design of the organ to the environment.

On the page ‘Exclusive Design‘ you can find many recent models. With a custom organ you can put everything together: from the number of speakers to the keyboards itselves. Multiple extended touch screens or traditional operation of draw registers with e-paper labels? You also have complete control over the finish of the instrument – such as the wood type, pedals, benches and pistons.

What’s the price of a custom made organ?

A custom organ is more expensive than one of our standard organs. For our standard models you pay an average of 10,000 to 25,000 euros. Custom organs often start at the price of 20,000 euros. This amount can increase if a custom-made organ is made for a church, school or concert hall. We often install an external sound system, so that the sound of the organ can be heard throughout the church or hall. An organ in a church may be more remarkable in design than an organ in a living room.

How does a custom made Mixtuur organ work?

Mixtuur’s organs are not the ‘old-fashioned’ pipe organs. They are equipped with high-quality technology from Hauptwerk. Hauptwerk is a powerful software program based on MIDI. In this program sample sets can be loaded from organs that have been recorded. It’s like: today you will play on the Christian Müller organ of the Grote- or Sint-Bavokerk in Haarlem, while tomorrow you will play on the Bätz organ of the Dom. To use a Mixtuur organ, you need at least one sample set. A sample set costs 100 to 1500 dollars. View all sample sets here.
