What is a virtual pipe organ?<\/h1>\n

A virtual pipe organ – also referred t0 as a digital organ or electronic organ – electronically mimics the sounds of a classical pipe organ. The tone of a virtual pipe organ is not generated by the various pipes, but by a software program. An example of such a software program is Hauptwerk\u2122.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nowadays, virtual organs can no longer be distinguished from classical pipe organs. This is because the sounds of a virtual organ are simulated in such a realistic way, that the difference is barely audible. With a virtual organ you can load a variety of sample sets from world-famous organs. For example, you can easily play the B\u00e4tz-organ from the Domkerk, or many other well-known organs from all over the world.<\/p>\n

How does a virtual organ work?<\/h2>\n

Every virtual organ from Mixtuur is equipped with the Hauptwerk software program. This program works with MIDI. All sorts of sample sets can be loaded into the program, from every organ that has been recorded. The unique thing about Hauptwerk is that the sound of each individual pipe is recorder separately. That is exactly why the sound is so realistic and lively.<\/p>\n

You determine the tuning or pitch of the organ yourself, without having to tune each pipe separately. Thanks to our self-developed technology, you do not need to have knowledge of computers in order to play your favorite organ.<\/p>\n

How much does a virtual pipe organ cost?<\/h2>\n

The basic program of Hauptwerk costs\u00a0$249 dollar. However, with this version you only have a limited number of functions. If you choose Hauptwerk Advanced, you can enjoy all the extensive features that Hauptwerk can offer you. This will cost you\u00a0 $599 dollar, but among other things you will receive per-pipe voicing and 512 channel output in return. You also need at least one sample set. Prices vary from $100 to $1500 dollars per set.<\/p>\n

Of course you also need at least a keyboard or organ to be able to use Hauptwerk. If you choose a Mixtuur organ, we install the software for you. This way your organ is immediately ready for use when it is installed.<\/p>\n
